BUSH CHAMPIONS GLADES RENEWAL (Florida)

CAMPAIGN 2004 | PRESIDENT VISITS S. FLORIDA

BUSH CHAMPIONS GLADES RENEWAL

President Bush appears in Naples and Coral Gables, pushing his environmental policies and raising money for the Republican Party.

BY BETH REINHARD AND LESLEY CLARK

(snip)....In the evening, Bush collected another $1.5 million at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, motoring from Miami International Airport along roadways clogged with supporters, many waving Cuban flags. Some Cuban Americans have expressed reservations about Bush's Cuba policies, but there was no sign of dissent in the crowded hotel ballroom.

Bush addressed a raucous audience, saying he could sum up his Cuba policy with two words: ''Cuba libre!'' The crowd shouted approval, while outside about 100 protesters behind police barricades shouted catcalls.

''Fire the liar, fire the liar!'' they chanted, challenging the president's credibility on the environment, the economy and the war in Iraq.

Peter Kohn, a Sierra Club member, held up a sign stating, ``GWB is the WMD.''

4. and the prize for stupifiying arrogance goes to..............
This raises shamelessness to an artform. Even as Jeb colludes with the sugar mafia to delay and degrade said restoration! Nobody with the least shred of environmental concern could buy this sack of dingo kidneys. Does he think he's fooling anybody?

5. Look out Alligators!
If Bush is championing the Everglades that can only mean one thing: he plans to turn it into a parking lot.
