Coors Official's Kerry Quip Draws Fire
DENVER - Democrats are furious about a statement by Republicans saying that comparing one of their candidates to presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) would be worse than comparing someone to the Ku Klux Klan.

The dispute started when The New York Times inadvertently published a photo of Republican Senate candidate Pete Coors above a story about a KKK member who murdered a black sharecropper. The Times published a correction Saturday.

Cinamon Watson, spokeswoman for Coors, said the error was "so outrageous it's kind of funny. It could have been worse. Pete could have been identified as John Kerry."

Chris Gates, chairman of the Colorado Democratic Party, demanded an apology. He said Democrats are "out there campaigning positively on the issues, and the Republicans can't help but resort to the lowest level of insult and name-calling."

7. We drank Coors back in the 60s...for some now unknown reason. Then
we figured the old joke was no joke: Drinking Coors is like making love in a canoe - fuckin' close to water.

That is some nasty stuff.

3. I've been told the Coors family (bazillionaires) has invested heavily and
over many decades in right wing think tanks. I wouldn't buy, drink or recommend Coors beer to anyone.

Coors = :thumbsdown:

6. Ex-Coors drinker here
No kidding. I think Coors is a very good beer, second to Corona (must be something about capital C's). Also being union (IBEW) I no longer drink Coors. Didn't know until very recently that the family is VERY conservative. That's when it was no longer an option. Living in Missouri, I know Busch/Budweiser is also VERY conservative, so I haven't used their products in years Gives me a headache anyway). So, being union, it is now Miller all the way, even though the aftertaste is not good. Thankfully, when we get an elected president in office, KERRY, the alcohol consumption will go down. Hey, we all deal with tragedy in our own ways ;-)....:hangover:

8. only had one Coors in my life
and I've consumed a lot of beer back in the day. I didn't even pay for that one, thank god.

All I can say about the beer is that it's like having sex in a canoe - it's fucking close to water.

I wouldn't piss down Pete Coors's throat if his heart was on fire.

11. I remember Coors was a real bad neighbor. There was
a lot of problem with them polluting the water, and they also had a lot of labor troubles.

Adolph Coors was buddy buddy with Nixon. They wanted to take over NPR because they said they were a bunch of Pinkos.
