White House pulls support for conference

Washington, DC, Apr. 26 (UPI) -- The White House is pulling federal funding from a health and reproductive rights conference that it fears has become a platform to push pro-choice views.

The Global Health Council initially the financial backing of three federal agencies for its "Youth and Health: Generation on the Edge" conference, the Washington Times reported Monday.

But in the last few days conservative lawmakers and activists have complained the inclusion of left-wing groups like MoveOn.org, which is spending millions on negative ads to defeat President Bush.

In addition, they resented the inclusion of the International Planned Parenthood Federation and U.N. International Family Planning Fund.
