Attacks Halt Rebuilding of Iraq (contractors pullout, power grid disaster
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1204230,00.html

Tuesday April 27, 2004
The Guardian

Vital reconstruction work in Iraq has almost completely ground to a halt after being "screwed up" by the deteriorating security situation in the country, senior coalition officials have told the Guardian.
Unless the situation improves dramatically in the next few weeks, essential work on the electricity network will not be complete before the extreme heat of the summer arrives, raising the prospect of months of power cuts similar to those that led to riots and widespread discontent last year, the officials warned.
<snip>
"We are at risk of moving into the summer period with the repairs not complete, which means we are going to have massive demand and not very good provision. So from that point of view, it is a disaster."
<snip>
"The best figure we've got is that about 25% of contractors had currently pulled out of country, albeit temporarily," a coalition source said. "However, that is putting a brave face on it because the other 75% have pulled back to base. They will argue that they are doing essential activities in the base like getting the paperwork straight. Yeah, well give me a break, how many times can you rewrite the scope of works and re-do your personnel accounts?"

1. The US didn't win anything but the "Check"
This didn't take very long to completely go south. Freeper can wave the flag over this thing, but is a sure thing that the US has been defeated.

2. Will this help reduce the bill?
For the record 15,000 private mercenaries we, the people,
the taxpayers, are footing the bill to protect the contractors, for?

3. No. The payroll-dole is still running at full speed, with less results.

5. Perhaps we should request an audit?
Waxman and Dorgan are VERY good at
that sort of thing...logically, a reduction
of "contractors" should be reflected in the
bill for private mercenary protection!
No?
BWAHAHA!

4. Maybe Dick & George should get their asses back to D.C.
and act like they give a crap for once. Campaigning at the US taxpayers expense is the LAST thing America or Iraq needs right now.

What are these two fools going to do next? Their entire policy at home and abroad is on the verge of total collapse.
Lives are at stake by the thousands.
Military equipment has gone to shit with no immediate answer in sight.

Meanwhile the dick & george show is out across the country bashing the ONLY MAN of the three of them, who did his part for PATRIOTISM and became a real soldier.

Kerry is MAN enough to have a vision, as to how the hell to make sense of the total world chaos dick & george have created by their stupidity and shortsightedness.

There is NO reason for these two goons to have as much power as the do.
They need to be removed from such high and dignified positions as President and Vice President, for the safety of mankind and the preservation of planet Earth.

They are running around the country toting fucking lie after lie, while while the world is in crises.
dick & george need to get back to D.C. and do their fucking job*
Get back to WORK. Clean up the your Mess.
If dick & george aren't going to take their job serious then there is a MAN named John F Kerry who is willing to do it for them.
They need to shut the hell up and fix the shithole mess they've put us in.
I have HAD IT!!

6. BHN Good Point. An Audit would be the best thing
and yes, Sen. Dorgan and Waxman are the best when it comes to audits.
I can't even imagine how intricately the financial web might be, as to these contracts.
But as with anything involving dick & george's administration one could just pick any subject and there'd be corruption attached to it.
