College President 'Disappointed' by Cheney

FULTON, Missouri (AP) -- Westminster College's president said he was so "surprised and disappointed" by Vice President Dick Cheney's attacks on John Kerry during a speech that he is inviting the Democrat to visit for a reply.

Fletcher Lamkin told The Associated Press that Cheney's staff approached him last week about using Westminster as the backdrop "for a major foreign policy address. Nothing was said about a stump speech."

In a campus-wide e-mail after the speech, Lamkin said: "I must admit that I was surprised and disappointed that Mr. Cheney chose to step off the high ground and resort to Kerry-bashing for a large portion of his speech."

Finally someone who "gets it". I hope JFK takes full advantage of the offer. Does anyone think CNN will cover the rebuttal as closely as the attack, though?

Of course, none of us are surprised at Cheney's vicious right-wing crap since the whole lot of them not only engage in it but certainly do nothing to admonish others for the same visceral hate-spewing garbage.

4. That is a person who truly cares about the education of his students

a foreign policy speech could be considered educational (even though it does come from a neo-con) but Kerry bashing does not offer any insight into foreign policy. This man is true educator and I hope his students and faculty are proud of him. I can't wait to see the WH spin on this.
