Syrian Security Forces Raid Arms Cache -State TV

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syrian security forces found a cache of arms and explosives in a raid in an upscale Damascus district where police earlier clashed with terrorists, Syrian television reported on Wednesday.
Syria's state-run TV showed footage of a room in which rocket-propelled grenades, gas cylinders and bags of yellow powder were stored. It said the makeshift depot was used by the group that launched an attack in the diplomatic Mazze area on Tuesday evening, detonating a car bomb and exchanging fire with police.

An Interior Ministry official condemned the attack as an act of terrorism which Syria was committed to confronting, the official SANA news agency said.

"The Syrian Arab Republic, which has confronted all forms of terrorism and continues to do so, condemns this terrorist act..." SANA quoted the official as saying. "(Syria) reiterates its position in confronting terrorist acts that aim to shake security and stability and spread chaos."

2. It sounds like Syria may be trying to come clean

This would be good news if it is really true. Notice that Lebanon came around after seeing the fate of those with nasty intent. It would be better if they were doing this under a Gore admin but I'll take it any way they choose to clean up their act for now.
