hey, bush, if you're looking forward to being questioned about sitting and reading a book about a goat while you KNEW the WTC was in flames, you're REALLY going to love this little thing we have called a Presidential Election coming up this November!

Bush Says He's Looking Forward to 9/11 Questions

Wed Apr 28, 2004 12:49 PM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush said on Wednesday he expected the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to ask him and Vice President Dick Cheney about their actions that day and in the time leading up to it.

Bush and Cheney, in an unusual move, are to make a joint appearance before the independent commission on Thursday morning at the White House to answer questions behind closed doors.

Bush, in an Oval Office picture-taking session with visiting Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson, brushed aside a question on why he was appearing with Cheney and why the White House was refusing to have the session transcribed.

<snip>

One issue that might be raised was just when Bush issued an order allowing military pilots to bring down civilian airliners on Sept. 11. The panel of five Democrats and five Republicans has been trying to determine if the order was given quickly enough to fighter pilots, who could possibly have been able to shoot down an American Airlines passenger plane before hijackers crashed it into the Pentagon.

10. Only future presidents??
"I look forward to giving the commissioners a chance to question both of us, and it will be a good opportunity for these people to help write a report that hopefully will help future presidents deal with terrorist threats to the country," said bush.

gw* must think he doesn't need to be concerned about doing anything about terrorist threats.

I bet gw* won't hand off the Clinton/Gore plan to ward off terrorists AND won't give the next administration anything to help fight terrorism. Condi will probably rush back to Stanford as soon as the election is over.
