WASHINGTON, April 29 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Kerry Campaign announced that 400,000 Americans have contributed over $80 million to John Kerry's presidential campaign.

"The 400,000 Americans have powered our campaign to reach the $80 million 2004 goal a full three months early," said Mary Beth Cahill. "It is the John Kerry way, ahead of schedule and under budget. The Kerry Campaign has over 400,000 financial supporters and we are just getting started."

The Kerry Campaign raised over $34 million online at http://www.johnkerry.com and at least $12 million in grassroots fundraising from mail and telephones. With a 20 city, $20 million swing set to conclude in St. Louis on Friday, the campaign announced that it has raised more than $34 million from these fundraising events -- $14 million more than the $20 million goal.

Coming off a record-setting March and first quarter, Kerry shattered records with a one-night record of $6.5 million raised in New York City. Earlier this month in his hometown, Kerry set a Boston record of $4.6 million in one night. Kerry even raised $1.2 million in Bush's backyard of Houston this month.

6. Meanwhile Kerry will always be seen as the underdog....
because BushCo made such a big deal about their campaign war chest. Everyone in America knows that the Republicans raised an obscene amount of money from the fat cat contributors.

Dear fearnobush,

I wanted to write and thank you again for your generous contribution
to my campaign. While I am certain you are asked to give to many
causes, your commitment to my campaign and to the larger political
process is humbling and much appreciated.

Your support remains crucial to my efforts and I trust that I can
count on your continued friendship and counsel.

Once again, thank you for your support.

Warm regards,

John F. Kerry

20. Every dollar counts
if someone can only afford $10, its still helps. We have numbers on our side, if everyone gives whatever they can afford $5, $10, $25, $100, $500 we can raise more money than all the $2,000 a plate corporate lackey Bush fundraisers. Lets take our country back! Government of, for, and by the people, not corporate interests!

14. No kidding. Voting with money sends a louder message than the polls
It also implies Kerry is appealing to Bush's traditional base, because that's where the money was last time.

19. This may be the year Dems break even with the GOP on fundraising
Impressive.

And he didn't even have to spend half his time doing expensive luncheons to raise that money.
