Ex-Editor at Gannett Chain Is to Lead USA Today
USA Today, the Gannett Company flagship jolted by revelations of fabrications and plagiarism, yesterday named as its new editor Kenneth A. Paulson, the executive director of the First Amendment Center and a former top editor at the chain.

Mr. Paulson, 50, succeeds Karen Jurgensen, who resigned April 20 as the extent of deceptions by the newspaper's former star foreign correspondent, Jack Kelley, became clear. Over more than a decade, Mr. Kelley fabricated portions of at least 20 articles and used, without credit, more than 100 passages from other news organizations, the newspaper's investigation found.

..He is also a senior vice president of the Freedom Forum, a nonprofit foundation led initially by Mr. Neuharth and known for its museum of journalism, the Newseum. For the last seven years, he has also worked for the First Amendment Center, a nonprofit foundation financed by the Freedom Forum.

3. Nashville's Gannet
takes the liberal side, but always using the emotional arguments, rarely the rational. drives me batty.
