Scalia Criticizes Politicizing of Judges
PHILADELPHIA — Judges have become too much like politicians, with the unfortunate result that picking new ones has become needlessly partisan and time-consuming, Justice Antonin Scalia said Thursday.

As long as judges tinker with the Constitution to "do what the people want," instead of what the document actually commands, politicians who pick and confirm new federal judges will naturally want only those who agree with them politically, Scalia said.

"So politics has made itself known," he told an audience of the Philadelphia Bar Assn.

Good judges are honest lawyers who stick to the letter of the law or the Constitution, whatever their political philosophy, Scalia said.

He would probably say it was white because it had been purified by his god.

43. I thought the song was apropos--lyrics below
Lyrics to Sit on My Face:

Sit on my face, and tell me that you love me,
I'll sit on your face and tell you I love you, too.
I love to hear you moralize,
When I'm between your thighs,
You'll blow me away!

Sit on my face, and let my lips embrase you,
I'll sit on your face and let my love be true-ly.
Life can be fine
If we both sixty-nine.
When you sit on the faces
Of those're from places that play,
You'll get blown away!!

13. This man has no clue.
Do you ever get that weird feeling when someone does something so out of the normal that you find yourself looking for exit doors?

I think Scalia isn't operating on a normal plane. He's lived such a favored status that he takes all the perks that comes with the cronyism as his reference to "normal."

27. Pot, Kettle, Black, etc., etc.
After his outrageous opinion in Bush v. Gore, Scalia has some nerve talking about judges being political. No politics involved in that decision, no siree. I guess that's why he slipped in the little caveat that the decision was not to be a precedent for the future - no we wouldn't want this decision to help out a Democrat in some future contested election would we? - can't have that, no.

38. This is the line that gets me:
"As long as judges tinker with the Constitution to "do what the people want," instead of what the document actually commands..."

It's yet another example of the disdain that Scalyass and his repug brothers have for the common man.

Are we not a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people?"
