General Says Rumsfeld Reviews Guantanamo Methods
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld must personally review the use of four types of interrogation methods before they can be used on foreign terrorism suspects at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a senior Army general said on Thursday.

Gen. James Hill, who as head of U.S. Southern Command is responsible for Guantanamo Bay, pointedly refused to reveal the nature of these four methods, although he denied guard dogs were used in interrogations or that prisoners were given chemicals or injections of any kind.

TECHNIQUES PRODUCED USEFUL INFORMATION

"We have used those techniques on two people," Hill said, and both then provided useful information.

Hill said he was convinced these methods were permissible under the Geneva Conventions.

1. "convinced these methods were permissible under the Geneva Conventions" -
Fine. Perhaps the General can also convince a war crimes tribunal. I wonder if his conviction is that steadfast.

2. Barf...double barf.... Well, I hope that Rumsfeld becomes burned
toast. He is just too weird and too flip about the "fungible" soldiers. Of course, the prisoners are also irrelevant until pictures are shown and what he approved becomes visible.

And I posted another thread where several institutions are suing the Army about the abuses... Suits usually make things float to the top...
