Kerry ahead as Bush approval drops in Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac University
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x11388.xml

"Democratic challenger John Kerry has moved into a thin 44 -- 41 percent lead over President George W. Bush among Pennsylvania voters, with 6 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

This compares to a 45 -- 39 percent lead for President Bush, with 8 percent for Nader in an April 21 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN uh-pe-ack) University.

Bush's job approval has dropped to an all-time low of 41 percent in Pennsylvania, with 55 percent disapproving. Voters say 51 -- 42 percent that going to war in Iraq was the wrong thing to do, reversing a 49 -- 45 percent vote in favor of the war April 21."

<snip>

""Sen. Kerry has taken the lead over President Bush in this key battleground state following a 7-point loss in support for the war in Iraq," said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "Pennsylvania voters turned against the war for the first time when it dramatically came home with the beheading of a Philadelphia businessman and the involvement of soldiers from a Pennsylvania reserve unit in the Iraq prison abuse scandal."

This is great news! However, it looks like Specter is still ahead for the Senate race.

2. Last night, CBS News did a story about Bush's support in PA
They interviewed several individuals in the "swing" area of Allentown, where many former Bush supporters are now declaring themselves to be undecided. According to CBS, Bush's disapproval among swing voters and former supporters is now almost entirely based on the war.

Kerry is more than halfway there with the undecided voters, in my opinion.

6. You have to wonder, don't you?
These forty-percent'ers must be living in the faux news hypnosis clinic.

The good news is.....Pennsylvania has been considered a bush state for too long. Now this poll shows Kerry in the lead. And will the Nader voters REALLY go to the polls and pull the lever for Nader after the 2000 fiasco? If they indeed DO vote for Nader, they're just as much idiots as the forty-percenters for bush.

What I've been wondering is....could all these new Nader voters polled actually be REPUBLICANS ???? who are sick of bush, but won't vote for Kerry?

7. Could be former Bush supporters....it's possible
but I'll bet if they tell the pollsters they're for Nader now, but November they'll be onboard for Kerry.

9. You're probably not a seatbelt.
And I SERIOUSLY doubt the 6%.

I just hope the Dems start lumping ALL republican candidates with bush in the upcoming election advertisements. Which would be true, because they've ALL (except 1 or 2) been guilty of enabling this administration.

12. Bush under 40%
That's huge. Now if only they can prevail upon the fine people of Ohio to come to their senses.
