Chalabi accuses Tenet of spurring intelligence probe
Chalabi says it is all Tenet's falut. Chalabi is such a good boy...

Iraqi exile leader Ahmad Chalabi accused CIA Director George Tenet on Thursday of being responsible for allegations that he passed intelligence information to Iran.

Chalabi lashed out at Tenet, saying the effects of his policies toward Iraq over the past years “have been not helpful to say the least.”

“He continued attempting to make a coup d’etat against in the face of all possible evidence that this would be unsuccessful,” Chalabi said. “His policies caused the death of hundreds of Iraqis in this futile efforts.”

Chalabi also accused Tenet of providing “erroneous information about weapons of mass destruction to President Bush, which caused the government much embarrassment at the United Nations and his own country.”

2. Chalabi has a death wish?
Maybe he thinks that now that Tenet has "resigned" that no one can get to him? He is playing a high stakes game. The CIA is one of the top terrorist orgs. on the planet and the rank and file couldn't be pleased that they are being kicked in the crotch by BushCo and Chalibi and that their Chief and Deputy bootlicked BushCo with the intell that they knew damn well was bogus. This will be an interesting story to follow.

4. I said it before...
...and I'll say it again: what in the h*** standing does this Chalabi guy have to say *anything* about one of our top officials (whether retired or not) -- and why does the media give a rat's a** what his opinion is?

Yes, I know he was the darling of the neocons and he was present during the planning sessions for the invasion of Iraq a few weeks after 9/11 -- in fact, I'd like to know just how in the h*** Rumsfeld et al can justify the presence of a foreign national at those meetings? Why do the media report all of this unquestioningly, rather than asking what he was doing there in the first place?

Chalabi is a man who provided the US with bad intelligence, and who provided Iran with good intelligence -- about us! -- and the press still gives him the time of day when he claims that Tenet provided bad intelligence!

Ppfftt.

5. the press sniffs a *delicious* story in the "intrigue"
sensing a back stabbing feud - the press gives air to Chalabi to keep the story going - they have to have something quasi salacious to fill the news between the Peterson story.

This is one case, were the lazy press looking for an easy story (easy because Chalabi keeps feeding/feuling it), works for us by keeping the question and the inevitable counter stories going. The longer the reality of what Chalabi leaked - and how it was leaked - and the impact (no longer being able to read Iranian intelligence - just when there is more and more news about budding nuclear capabilties?) - the more likely it seeps into the public psyche... and few more growing discontent middle of the roaders get disgusted and peel away from Bush.
