Gadhafi Regrets Reagan Died Before Trial
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/L/LIBYA_REAGAN?SITE=IADES&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

Moammar Gadhafi expressed regret Sunday that President Ronald Reagan died before standing trial for 1986 American air strikes that killed the Libyan leader's adopted daughter and 36 other people.

Reagan ordered the April 15, 1986, air raid in response to a discotheque bombing in Berlin allegedly ordered by Gadhafi that killed two U.S. soldiers and a Turkish woman and injured 229 people.

"I express my deep regret because Reagan died before facing justice for his ugly crime that he committed in 1986 against the Libyan children," Libya's official JANA news agency quoted Gadhafi as saying.

3. Gonna make it a little bit harder
to parade him to the faithful as an example of how well their WOT is going... when he proclaims the wish to have held a trial for their (even more than bush) beloved Reagan. "Huhs" and headscratching from throughout the right. Does that mean he is... with us? or against us? Does not compute.

9. Depends on who killed Klinghoffer
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 11:59 AM by NewYorkerfromMass
Americans were generally outraged at his death. Gadhafi was the no. 1 suspect.

And yes I know it wasn't his daughters.

10. We did senselessly kill his adopted infant daugher.
The little girl was innocent. We didn't have to do it.

11. Maybe Thatcher can still stand trial
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 04:45 PM by daleo
I wonder how reliable the evidence against Gadhafi actually was in the case of the disco bombing. I think we all have much less faith in these claims than we used to.

On edit - If I recall correctly, Ghdhafi was sort of the Ossama of the 1980's to be hauled out as a bogeyman by Reagan and Thatcher when convenient. The same goes for Kohmeni of Iran (spelling?), when the U.S. and U.K. were supporting Saddam Hussien in his war against Iran, supplying him with WMD.
