STEVE MORGAN, the Welshman at the heart of the John Kerry presidential campaign, said yesterday Peter Hain's upcoming visit with senior Democrats suggests that the Government is now expecting President Bush to lose the November election.
He said several potential scandals were looming over the Bush administration which have prompted Downing Street to build bridges with the Democrats.
Mr Morgan, John Kerry's foreign media adviser who divides his time between the United States, Westminster and his home in Chepstow, said, "My reading of this is that the Government realises that a Bush victory is getting increasingly unlikely.
"The Prime Minister is in a difficult position. The British Government have to work with what is increasingly looking like a Kerry administration."
