LONDON (AFP) - British military police are investigating far more complaints against the country's troops in Iraq than first thought, with 75 reported incidents being looked into, the Ministry of Defence said.
Armed forces minister Adam Ingram said that while he had told parliament on May 4 that 33 cases were being looked into, further inquiries found that the true figure for that time was 61.
Another 14 investigations had also begun since then, making 75 in all, Ingram said in a written parliamentary answer.
"Steps have been taken to ensure that information on all Service Police investigations into incidents in Iraq are now held centrally," he said.
