Tour to Register Voters, Recall Slayings
NEW YORK -- A caravan of volunteers headed south Thursday for a two-week voter registration drive to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the slayings of three civil rights workers in Mississippi.

It is an effort led by Ben Chaney, the brother of James Chaney, who along with two other civil rights workers was slain near Philadelphia, Miss., in 1964.

The bus tour includes stops in Atlanta and Greensboro, N.C. The trip is to include a memorial service in Mississippi and conclude June 25 in Washington, D.C.

About 40 volunteers are part of the caravan.

2. Good for them...
I wish that the Democratic Party would officially get behind a voter regisration drive, seems like they don't make much of an effort. :-(

3. The Dems in the Emily's List, Sierra Club, etc have banded together
and are holding a major voter registration drives in the battleground states. You can join them; they are looking for help. I will probably help in Cincy since I am over the river up the river in Louisville, Ky. Just get in touch with Emily's List in D.C. or your local Sierra Club and they will put you to work with this important job.
