German parliament sells its national flag to brothel

German MPs are furious that a flag from the Reichstag parliament building has been sold... to a brothel.

The madam of the bordello said she was delighted to have acquired the national symbol and would be flying it over her place of business.

The flag had been put up for sale by the government in an internet auction to help it raise funds.

Only after the winning bid had been accepted did the organisers find out who had paid the 3,350 euros ($4,020).

5. I don't see any reason for "outrage"

I mean, wtf (scnr *g*), it's just a flag, a used one even with tattered edges and stains. Who cares where it comes from? If she wants to fly it over her brothel, so what?

Maybe it's really that our politicians have been reminded how similar their line of work is to that of the brothel's ladies...

They went bonkers when the auction was started, and did so again today.

Besides: the Government had nothing to do with it, the Bundestag did sell the flag.
