Cleric fears Shia divisions in Najaf
Mostly because this supports my take on the business in Najaf Friday.

An Iraqi Shia
Muslim cleric is
concerned about
possible deep
divisions in community
following the
cancellation of Friday
prayers in Najaf and
the fighting that broke
out between al-Sadr
and al-Sistani
supporters.

Shaikh Jawad al-Khalisi, told Aljazeera.net that
pro-US occupation parties are trying to promote
conflict among the Shia.

"The US occupation and its collaborators have
failed to initiate a Sunni-Shia conflict in Iraq over
the past 15 months. They are now trying to turn Shia against Shia," he said.
