(Kimmitt) Acknowledges American Goals Haven't Been Achieved in Fallujah
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A senior U.S. military officer acknowledged Saturday that the Americans have not achieved their goals in Fallujah despite the agreement to end the siege of the Sunni Muslim city and turn security over to an Iraqi force.

Ten U.S. Marines and hundreds of Iraqis were killed during the three-week siege of Fallujah, which was launched after four Americans working for the Blackwater USA security company were ambushed, killed, their bodies mutilated and hung from a Euphrates river bridge. Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt told reporters that the city had been generally quiet since Marines lifted the siege in early May.

Kimmitt also said the U.S.-led coalition had demanded a return to Iraqi government control, handing over of heavy weapons and the arrest of those responsible for the killing of the Blackwater employees.

"We are not satisfied we are making active progress in the latter," Kimmitt said. "We are not satisfied that there has been progress on any of those objectives, with the exception of having Iraqi presence back inside the city."

700 DEAD CIVILIANS is not enough for his blood lust. He needs to flatten the whole fucking city with not a "raghead" left breathing, before he is a happy soldier....

2. That's the problem with people like these....
If they can conquer just ONE more city, just kill a few more Iraqis, then there will be peace in the kingdom. Little do they realize their "goals" recede on the horizon, just like when you drive a car in the desert. Those foothills look so close. You think you'll be there in 5 minutes. An hour later, you are no closer to those foothills.

It's the same thing with people like Kimmet. They think that if they can tighten their grip just a little more, then they'll be there.

The only problem is, Mark, there is always another village. There is always another town nearby.......you can never win..........always more people, Mark.........

3. I would say that the main American goal HAD been achieved..

THIS was the goal, and it was achieved. It just didn't have the effect they had hoped for. Rather than being beaten into submission, the forces of resistance ended up winning the fight even with heavy losses from the massacre.

5. This guy'll be fired within the week
Last week it was "Iraq isn't about terrorists" and this week it's "our goals haven't been achieved."
