Jeb Bush Not Anxious to Read Clinton Book (it's too big)
snip....

Bush said Tuesday that Clinton's book, titled "My Life," isn't something that he's anxious to read.

"It's just 947 pages is a little more than my threshold," said Bush, the brother of President Bush. (Actually, the book is 957 pages long.)

"I briefly read a great novel about the Alamo after watching the movie. I read a book about Barcelona, I read a book on Cicero," he said. "I've (got) a pretty wide range of interests, but Bill Clinton is not on that list."

more...........

2. Besides, there's nothing to color in it...
It was the same story with Robert Novak. All he could do was comment about the size of the book.

I notice Bush didn't say he READ Cicero, just a book on Cicero. Wasn't there a Disney character by that name, too?

4. Anyway
I'm too busy working my way through "My Pet Goat"

My bro tells me it's a pretty compelling read.

"I couldn't put it down" he said.

Even while the FUCKING country was under attack!

Assholes!

10. Trade off - the book is too big versus the words are too big
A NOVEL(?) about the Alamo - w/photos of Fess Parker as Davy Crocket (this for trying to impress the macho young lads in the Florida public schools, how to sling BULL in Barcelona, a gift from Mr. Aznar, and Cicero, the street of choice for thugs in Chickago! As for Clinton not being on his (insert color) list - 180 degree rule applies - up is down, down is up, war is peace....

13. Jeb always seems to be there
with the snarky comment about President Clinton. I can't recall any specific quotes offhand, but I know I remember several that were just rude and displayed a total lack of manners and civility. Poppy's also been known to thrown manure Bill's way when his "boy" is percieved as less the president Clinton was. I'll never forget that lame remark he made during the election that if Clinton didn't lay off Junior Poppy would "tell everyone what he really thought of him as a person." As if that was the secret weapon...
I figure Bill and Poppy have a little in common, only G.H.W.B.'s infidelity lasted about 25 years and it didn't consume the DC press corps during his presidency and after he left the WH . Sanctimoneous prick - acting as if what Clinton was so reprehensible...
Remember Jennifer Fitzgerald Poppy? Jeb? Dumbya? She was practically a member of the family!

15. If, God forbid, there's ever a President Jeb,
I'm afraid the world may develop a perverse nostalgia for the simpler, more "innocent" days of Dubya.

Because this Bush is one sinister, cold-hearted motherf*cker.

16. "It's just 947 pages is a little more than my threshold"
147 pages is more than his threshold.

And that includes the 50 pages of color pictures.

Poppy and Babs really polluted the gene pool, didn't they?

17. People who complain about lengthy books

show themselves to be lazy and lacking in intellectual curiosity. It amazes me how many comments have been made about the book's length.

"Do you people READ?" is what I want to ask.

21. I work in a public library....
and I can attest to the fact that Americans don't read much any more unless it's "Who Moved My Cheese", something they can finish in one sitting on the jon. The library is their new video store - sitting to read a book that might take a little time is just not something that most Americans do. They've got malls to visit and TV to watch.

It's depressing.

18. jebby is still trying to read
the summary pamphlet of Florida's Election Laws ... trying to familiarize himself with how an election might be held in the Sunshine State. He's been trying to read it for several years now, and just seems to fall asleep on the second paragraph.

19. Quoting Dorothy Sayers:
In one of her Lord Peter Whimsey mystery novels: (my paraphrase, from faulty memory) Or is it from Diana Galbadon's Outlander series?
"
Your Grace, how brave you are to read such a large book. I'm sure I could never manage it"

"Don't worry, dear, you wouldn't understand it, anyway."
