I was an adult during Nixon--his foreign policy was very multilateral--China in particular. He lied to stay in power, and he was an idiot, but for his own sake; he didn't try to force a whole ideology on the nation. He was not a low class redneck trying to rule the world.

He's just so dumb that when he fumbles around, we say to ourselves, "I would only let myself look so stupid if I were cracking up, so he must be cracking up.' But he's not. He's just really slow and confused.
