Ron Reagan Says Bush Misled U.S. on Iraq

LOS ANGELES - Ron Reagan, the younger son of the late President Reagan, criticized the Bush administration's foreign policy, saying he believed the president misled Americans to gain support for the Iraq (news - web sites) war.

"We lied our way into the war," he said on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Wednesday, referring to allegations that Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) had weapons of mass destruction and direct connections to al-Qaida. "It's a terrible mistake, a terrible foreign policy error."

Reagan, 46, a vocal opponent of his father's conservative politics, said he would vote for anyone who could beat the current president.

Reagan also said he was angered over the administration's restriction of federal funding for human embryonic stem cell research.

1. Rove befuddled
They haven't launched any kind of attack on Ron Reagan Jr. yet. So far, they're afraid to.

I'm sure they're trying to think of some safe way to go after him.

4. Seattle
He says he's not cut out for politics. Also said he's also an atheist and polls show that people just won't vote for an atheist.

5. Well, THIS lifelong Catholic would vote for him in a heartbeat.
It'd be the first time I'd ever cast an "aye" vote for a Reagan. He may not run. And I'm in California. BUT, he's also, evidently, not going to stay out of the limelight, either. Perhaps he's in the exact best position possible - as a (potential) pundit with a mass audience and influence that extends far beyond a single Congressional district or Senate seat.
