Bush Pledges to Pursue Turkish Kurd Rebels in Iraq
(Reuters) - President Bush pledged to work with Turkey and the new Iraqi government against Turkish Kurd militants in northern Iraq in an interview with Turkish television aired Friday.

Bush was speaking ahead of a weekend trip to Turkey, which blames Turkish Kurdish guerrillas in north Iraq for recent cross-border attacks on security forces in southeast Turkey. Bush is to attend a June 28-29 NATO summit in Istanbul.

The White House has said there will be no change to his schedule despite Thursday's bomb blasts in Ankara and Istanbul which killed four people and injured at least 18 others.

The president told the NTV news channel the United States was serious about tackling the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which is on the State Department's list of ``foreign terrorist organizations.''

4. What a stupid remark to make public.
The Kurds in Iraq and the Kurds in Turkey are KURDS!:wow: Can't this guy put 2 + 2 together? Do we have to write it in blood for him? The incompetent fool. He just made the whole of northern Iraq our new enemy as if we don't have enough all ready.

5. Yeah, this'll firm up support for the US in northern Iraq - NOT!!
Jesus, what a callous, brain-dead tool. Idiot - why don't you just piss off the vast majority of the remaining Iraqis who still sort of like us?

Maybe you could just offer them some broomsticks and lightbulbs while you're at it, Chimpo.

8. Dubya is going to alienate the only effective 'allies' he has in Iraq.
The Kurds expect to be betrayed -- and will see this as a sign of betrayal. The Bushistas will then face rebellion in all areas of Iraq.
