Frist Won't Criticize Cheney for Cursing
Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 01:07 PM by khephra
WASHINGTON -- Majority Leader Bill Frist refused on Sunday to criticize Vice President Dick Cheney for cursing on the floor of the Senate in a confrontation with a Democratic senator.

snip.........

"It's a political season right now, where partisan feelings and emotions have come to the surface itself," Frist said when asked on CNN's "Late Edition" about the comment.

Despite that, he said, the Senate is doing its work well, avoiding gridlock that could result from a lineup of 51 Republicans, 48 Democrats and an independent. "We're delivering for the American people," Frist said.

"With regard to the vice president's comments, I did not hear the comments, did not witness the comments, but clearly they reflect a lot of that emotion," he said. "Without taking one side or the other, a lot of personal feelings are being expressed, and that emotion came out by the vice president, and I'll let the American people judge as to whether or not it was warranted."

Pressed whether he condones the use of such language in the Senate, Frist pointed out that the chamber was not in session at the time, "so I am not going to condone, I am not going to overly criticize the language that people in the -- the language that people use to express themselves."

3. By accepting it now, it will become permanent.
Accepting something wrong for political convenience makes it a rule.

Sad.

these same people will be complaining before long about the 'poisonious atmosphere' and won't be able to figure out what caused it. :-(

6. I watched Capitol Gang on CNN last night and it was a disgusting sight.
The Douche bag for Liberty, Novakula and his whore counterpart O'Biern were actually defending Cheney because, "Leahy is the meanest, most vile, most partisan member of the senate." (Words along those lines. It was so stupid and so desperate it was hilarious!). To even remotely suggest that Leahy deserved it was despicable but what more do you expect about those 2 partisan whores?

BTW, after seeing F911, the Bush apologists and supporters now more then ever look like absolute idiots.

7. Leahy's crime is that he is questioning
Halliburton and its no-bid contracts in Iraq

Journalists who shill for this rip-off of the American people are not journalists

The headlines should be

Vice President attacks Senator for questioning Halliburton's practices

8. Kerry's not presidential material
when he uses the F word, but cheney is vice presidential material when he uses it.........That's the way this works.

Poor Cheney is under lots of pressure with the 9=11 report coming out, the one from the Senate intel, and someone from his office committing treason. That's a lot of pressure for a man with a heart problem.

9. Yeah right...
"I am not going to overly criticize the language that people in the -- the language that people use to express themselves."

Hey kittykiller, how about applying that to Richard Clark?

Maybe we can hope that Sen. Inofe will think about this when people express "outrage" over inhumane treatment in the name of America?

Hopefully, next time a Democrat crticizes Bush, Frist's troops will refrain from saying they hate America or that they're unpatriotic.

And maybe, just maybe, his deputy, Rick "man-on-dog" Santorum, will apply this general principle to people's expression of their sexual identity and realize that the language he uses to bash gays is ignorant and hurtful.

As for the rest of us who REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE, let us forge forward in pushing those greedy, power-grabbing, back-stabbing evil-doers buttons every chance we get!!!

:bounce:

We have every reason to take a stand against these bullying, stingy, butt-wipes (in our incredibly diplomatic way *snicker*)!!!! If they can't handle what they dish out,...well, that is their personal problem,...and they will just have to GET OVER IT!!!

28. Frist kills cats. Cheney kills civility in the Senate chamber. It is no
big deal with these war criminals. Dead Iraqi children. Numbers mounting everyday. Along with our dead and wounded troops. And the court appointed VP has to tell a Senator "Go F**k Yourself". Because he does not like being reminded of the huge profits he and his cronies are making off of this war crime. These people have no business leading America.

Dubya's spoken umpteen times about Clinton symbolizing the corrupt "if it feels good, do it" culture.

31. and a great rejoicing was heard throughout the land
for the Lord spake
whislt thou hast labored in silence
muttering thy curses under thy breath
Rejoice now, O children of Frist-re-ill
for now thy curses shall be spoken out loud,
and shall be heard in all corners of the land
as the true voice of thy God Cheney spaketh
so shall thee speak, in my Fathers' tongue,
proclaimeth to all,
Fucketh thyself!!

34. Imagine for a moment, had it been VP Al Gore
The repubs would have invented new retroactive laws. But I can hear the dems now: "I can understand it, but I'll bet he's kicking himself for losing it", "that certainly isn't the image/tone we want to project; I'll bet he's kicking himself". -Reason rather than blind hypocricy. I'd bet money on it.
