Man divorces wife after she phones talk show - Saudi
Riyadh - A Saudi has divorced his wife for participating in a television programme by telephone when he had previously warned her against phoning in to talk shows, a newspaper reported on day.

Khadija F. Fares, a 31-year-old Saudi woman, told Al-Watan that her husband of 12 years annulled their marriage after she expressed her point of view on "marital problems" during a programme broadcast by a Gulf television channel.

After the show, the husband, with whom she has two children, ignored his wife for two days before conveying his decision to divorce her through her family, the daily said.

I thought this could be LBN because maybe it's one of the Saudi's we just saw in Moore's film?

4. Not if she loves her kids.. THEY belong to the father,
not the mother.. She will most likely be shunned by the whole family, and probably not welcomed back into her family.. She most likely has no skills to support herself, is not educated, and no other man will want her.. She may never see her kids again..

2. At least he didn't have her stoned or beheaded ..

Those Saudis are pretty harsh.

BTW, that reminds me of the Taliban representative telling a lady reporter that he feels sorry for her husband ;-)

3. I don't tend to make blanket judgements
but that is one of the most barbaric, uncivilized, countries on earth.

And surprise surprise -- they're rulers are friends with the Bush family!
