Chirac Calls Out Bush on Turkey-EU Speech
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 01:49 PM by kskiska
ISTANBUL, Turkey -- French President Jacques Chirac said Monday that President Bush went "too far" by saying the European Union should admit Turkey, and he added that Bush commenting on Turkish-EU relations was like a French leader commenting on U.S.-Mexican ties.

"If President Bush really said that in the way that I read, then not only did he go too far, but he went into territory that isn't his," Chirac said.

"It's a bit like if I told the United States how they should manage their relations with Mexico."

Bush met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara before attending Monday's NATO summit in Istanbul, and he pledged to fight for Turkey's membership in the European Union.

(snip)

"As Turkey meets the EU standards for membership, the European Union should begin talks that will lead to full membership for the Republic of Turkey," Bush said.

4. Bush is such an embarrassing idiot.
He really is stupid. What is so surprizing to me is that, evidently, all of his advisors and aides are equally stupid. It doesn't take a whole lot of "brains" to know that the US has no rights, say-so, or business in EU affairs. Bush did more to hurt Turkey's chances of EU membership than almost anything else he could have done. Pitiful...

12. Goosesteppers will march behind anyone
They would have marched behind Hitler without question.

They support the person the $$$$ select. Without question.

Reagan is their Hero. A Brain Dead Affable Dunce who performed the part of president.

They eulogize him as if he succeeded. He did not . His record was abysmal. Clinton wipes him off the map. record wise. Not Blarneywise.

Bush record wil be far worse than Reagan.

Look at Clinton versus Reagan and you know which should be eulogized

Comparing Democrat’s hero-CLINTON—versus Republican’s hero--REAGAN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.JOBS—grew by 43% more under Clinton.
2.GDP---grew by 57% more under Clinton.
3.DOW—grew by 700% more under Clinton..
4.NASDAQ-grew by 18 times as much under Clinton.
4.SPENDING--grew by 28% under Clinton---80% under Reagan.
5.DEBT—grew by 43% under Clinton—187% under Reagan.
6. DEFICITS—Clinton got a large surplus--grew by 112% under Reagan.
7.NATIONAL INCOME—grew by100% more under Clinton.
8.PERSONAL INCOME—Grew by 110% more under Clinton.
