Bush's Rating Falls to Its Lowest Point, New Survey Finds
President Bush's job approval rating has fallen to the lowest level of his presidency, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll. The poll found Americans stiffening their opposition to the Iraq war, worried that the invasion could invite domestic terrorist attacks and skeptical about whether the White House has been fully truthful about the war or about abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison.

A majority of respondents in the poll, conducted before yesterday's transfer of power to an interim Iraqi government, said that the war was not worth its cost in American lives and that the Bush administration did not have a clear plan to restore order to Iraq.

The survey, which showed Mr. Bush's approval rating at 42 percent, also found that nearly 40 percent of Americans say they do not have an opinion about Senator John Kerry, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, despite what have been both parties' earliest and most expensive television advertising campaigns.

3. Bush has shot himself in the foot. "Anyone said "Good Shot?""
Bush actually asks for compliments during a hunt/ a scene from 9/11 caught on tape.

"Yes Mr President, that was A good shot" How sickening and shallow of him to fish for compliments. How Prince John of him. Only guy missing is the guy from Nottingham.

Each one of those stupid spikes shows just how gullable the American people are.

Gah!

Great trend, though! Note how he's *never* gotten a slow rise in approval ratings, it's always spike or nothing.

38. The only spikes were caused by violence. 9/11 attacks and
our invasion of Iraq. If not for the attacks on 9/11, the Chimp's numbers would have stayed permanently in the toilet.

It's disgusting that Americans rally around the evil chimp during times of violence. Blood lust or something I guess....

Agreed it's so stupid that we rally around someone who has caused us nothing but woe.

25. and wait more for this "sovereignty" to play out
I dunno which way this will fall, will Americans believe in "Mission Accomplished II" or not? Could go either way, IMO, as many still believe that its a good thing to bring democracy to Iraq.

The problem there is that many Americans aren't educated on the facts surrounding this "transfer" of power. Few know that the governing council is hand picked by Chimpy, since they were picked ages ago -- a ages ago in terms of current news.

8. But Some Who Disapprove of Bush* Are Going to Vote For Him Anyway
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 10:44 PM by AndyTiedye
The wingers have little to worry about from this survey.

> Nationwide, Mr. Kerry has the support of 45 percent of registered voters, with Mr. Bush
> supported by 44 percent. When Ralph Nader, who is running as an independent, is
> included, he draws 5 percent, leaving 42 percent for Mr. Kerry and 43 percent for Mr. Bush

and Nader still puts Bush* over the top. :puke:

But it's still too soon for their polling sample to have seen F/911.
Hopefully, when they do, you'll have to add a 20% column to that graph.

12. Wrong. The approval rating is a much more accurate measure.
This is really looking like 1992. And the experts say that Nader will in the end only get a fraction of what he took in 2000.

We will win.

15. There is only one poll that counts...
and that poll is three months. A lot could happen between now and November such as the capture of Osama bin Laden or an economic boom. We shouldn't let any poll lull us into a false sense of security. We must be vigilant! -------->NO SLACKING FROM NOW UNTIL NOVEMBER!

capturing UBL? It would be great if either happened but UBL is not going to help chimpy* no matter when he is "found". This economic "good news" is propped up by fuzzy numbers and our country has never been so far in debt. If an economic boom were to happen it won't be with this mis-administration's policies and it will take YEARS to repair what they have done.

17. While I'm thrilled with this,
let's not start decorating Kerry's WH just yet. This has happened before, and each time the Boy King Impostor has managed to bounce back. God knows how ANY patriotic American can even consider supporting him now, but we still have four months to go and anything can happen. Raygun had nothing on Shrub when it comes to being a "Teflon" president.

19. I also noticed in the article that FratBoy was being called "Mr. Bush"...
...instead of President Bush. That usually indicates that the guy in charge has fallen out of favor with the powers-that-be. We have seen the media use this kind of tactic before with Clinton, Bush I, Carter, and Nixon.

There are a little over four months to go before the elections. Let's hope nothing happens to keep the elections from taking place, and that any potential vote-rigging has little or no impact on the election itself.

23. "Mr. Bush has had success in portraying his opponent as a flip-flopper."
This is team kerry's own fault. Sure, the whores helped chimp spray the flip flop paint all over Kerry, but Kerry decided to "not murder a guy committing suicide" to much approval of many Dems. Welp, folks, letting Chimp attack without response has resulted in a negative personal rating.

Probably, a lot of Kerry's people were deeply into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during the '92 election, but the few adults should take a lesson from Clinton's strategy against the Bush method of campaigning.

All those rich Americans dumping money into chimp-boy's war chest, which he then spent on hiring operatives, making videos, and buying air time. All that spending gave the economy a little bounce.

It's trickle down economics! LOL!

36. Ohio and Pennsylvania Could Decide U.S. Presidential Race
<snip>
In order to successfully curry the favour of voters in the two states—and their combined 44 electoral votes—Republicans and Democrats will need to focus on specific issues. In Ohio, the loss of several thousand manufacturing positions has made unemployment the principal anxiety. In Pennsylvania, a large number of electors remain concerned with health care and prescription drug benefits.

37. Bush, Blair Gains From Iraq Handover May Be Temporary (Update5)
<snip>
"People will wake up tomorrow morning, and foreigners are still going to be kidnapped, and people are still going to be beheaded, and there are still going to be car bombs," Cook said. "What America needs to see is their kids not getting shot at and their kids coming home.|"
<snip>

Coalition forces have failed to find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and a congressional commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks reported earlier this month that there was no evidence of a "collaborative relationship" between the al-Qaeda terrorist network and the former Iraqi regime.
<snip>

"The return of Iraqi sovereignty is a necessary precondition, though alas not enough, for the establishment of peace, stability, democracy, progress and development," said French President Jacques Chirac.
<snip>

In the U.S., the vast majority of the 852 U.S. military deaths in Iraq have happened since May 1, 2003, when Bush, standing on an aircraft carrier in front of a banner proclaiming ``Mission Accomplished,'' declared an end to major military operations.
