Terror Threat on Six Major U.S. Airports

Six major U.S. airports are now under more surveillance by the Department of Homeland Security because of a terror threat.

An anonymous source at Homeland Security says they're looking for Pakistanis with physical signs of terrorist training, namely men with rope burns, bruises and scars.

This story first broke last night on the CBS Evening News. The network reports customs inspectors are on alert at Newark, Washington Dulles, New York JFK, Detroit, Chicago O'Hare and Los Angeles international airports.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Pakistan could not be supporting them, just wondering if it is prudent to blame country X just because the person is thier citizen. What if a person from country X was working for country Y ?

They've secured the cockpit doors. Passengers now know that they will all die if they don't risk death attempting to stop the hijackers. The best they could now hope for is to crash a jet somehow by blowing it up or something. It would be a disaster, yes, but nothing akin to 9-11. The only way they could be successful is to hijack a FedEx plane or something, and I'm not sure how possible that is.

I just don't see al Quaida attacking again this soon with planes.

I'm going to be in the Detroit airport day after tomorrow, coming in from Dubai. This is going to be huge amounts of great fun.

Not that I ever believe in these terror alerts, but when I'm half out of my mind with apprehension about this long trip, this doesn't help.

I hope this news somehow bypasses my parents and in-laws, because they are already concerned about our trip. I don't want them to be upset for no reason.
