US protests Mexican troops' interruption of US Marine's funeral
The United States protested to Mexico over an interruption by Mexican troops of a US Marine's funeral at his hometown in central Guanajuato state.

Mexican soldiers with automatic weapons reportedly disrupted the graveside burial of Lopez after taking issue with non-working, ceremonial rifles carried by two Marines who traveled from the United States to take part in the funeral.

"President Fox is one of my closest friends we have some disagreements but the ties between Mexico and the United States have never been stronger."
George Bush at an earlier meeting with President Fox

What a crock! The war has pissed off Fox just like it has all the leaders with a conscience and the attitude has trickled down to the rest of the Mexican population.

4. They died fighting bravely for thier country...
Its one thing if the children were executed. These "children," fought and died bravely in a war that thier country lost.

Its stupid to imply that the Marines are murderers because at some time in the past a group of marines fought with a group of Mexican Military Cadets.

So do you think that they should not have fought just because they were fighting against younger opponents?

I'm Mexican-American, yeah the past is fucked up, but the past is the fucking past.

Bitching about how wrong the Mexican-American war was isnt going to change anything, it happened and there is nothing we can do to change that, we just need to worry about the future.

Anyways the family of this dead marine wanted to have a certain type of funeral ceremony for him. I think it was disgraceful that politicans would make an issue of it. They should have had the decency to wait till after he was buried to do something.
