HICKORY

A North Carolinian could be on his way to the White House.

Some local Democrats who know him are excited about the prospect.

Presidential candidate John Kerry fulfilled their wishes Tuesday in choosing North Carolina’s John Edwards as his running mate.

“He brings vigor and enthusiasm to the ticket,” said Jeff Dellinger, chairman of the Catawba County Democratic Party. “They are going to be one heck of a team.”

9. Yes. News should include regular folks, not just kings, generals...

and politicians.

As a historian, I was trained that items like this will be vital in understanding the Edwards impact one day. (Hell, these are my favorite kinds of articles to use when I write!) That makes this item future history, and that makes it news.

My daughter is in serious condition in the hospital, ran home for a bath and thought I would post an article from the republican strong hold district of Cass Ballinger.....A very big republican town of Hickory, North Carolina...This paper has the best picture of Edwards, that I have seen...something to keep for my grandchildren.
