July 7, 2004--If the Presidential Election were held today, Senator John Kerry would win 237 Electoral Votes, President George W. Bush would win 203 Electoral Votes, and 98 Electoral Votes would be in the toss-up category. Most of the toss-up Electoral Votes are found in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
These latest results include a shift of Florida from "Toss-Up" to "Lean Kerry." Our latest polling data for Florida shows the Democratic Senator leading 48% to 43%. Additional revisions may be made this week as we release additional state-by-state polling data for 20 states.
All polling data to be released this week is based upon survey data collected prior to the selection of John Edwards as John Kerry's running mate.
At Rasmussen Reports, we consider any state where polls show a candidate leading by less than five percentage points to be a toss-up. Feel free to review our state-by-state listing and share your comments.
