Pfizer to Give Away Nicotine Patches

Pfizer, the New York-based pharmaceuticals company, is donating $3.7 million worth of nicotine patches to New York City for use in lower income neighborhoods, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said yesterday.

The Nicotrol patches will provide 25,000 eight-week courses of nicotine therapy and will be distributed through New York City Health and Hospital Corporation, the city's hospital network, which is the single largest health care service provider to uninsured and poor New Yorkers, according to the department.
