1. Prosecutors: Judge denies Martha Stewart new trial
A federal judge denied Martha Stewart's latest request for a new trial based on allegations that a government ink expert lied on the witness stand at her first trial, prosecutors said Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum turned down the request, said Megan Gaffney, a spokeswoman for federal prosecutors in Manhattan.

The decision appeared to pave the way for the celebrity homemaker to be sentenced next week for lying about a 2001 stock. Stewart and her former stockbroker are each expected to get 10 to 16 months in prison.

A spokeswoman for Stewart did not immediately return a call for comment.

4. This is the same judge who let the lawsuit
for Maurice Clarett through and eventually overturned by Appeals.

She'll get overturned once again.

9. She's everything I aspire to be
Okay, not really. But, damn, what I'd give for the title, "celebrity homemaker". Martha, your short prison sentence will only make you stronger.

7. After finding out
a 'witness' was a liar, this is a miscarriage of justice. I hope President Kerry will pardon her.
