Officials: Bin Laden guiding plots against U.S.

A plot to carry out a large-scale terror attack against the United States in the near future is being directed by Osama bin Laden and other top al Qaeda members, senior intelligence officials said Thursday.

Bin Laden and his top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahiri, are overseeing the attack plans from their remote hideouts somewhere along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, according to senior intelligence officials.

7. A lot of people have postulated

that perhaps they've had their finger on OBL for a long time, but were saving their ace for when a winning hand was absolutely needed. Can you imagine how much more of a coup (figuratively, of course) it would be if they ether captured or (more likely) killed (since dead men don't talk) the guy just before he pulled off "another"* 9/11? To catch them red handed would be a slam dunk for Bush's reelection efforts.

Ridge was just on CNN talking about how they have no Specific information about Specific targets at a Specific time or a Specific place using Specific materials. All they have is credible belief that it MIGHT happen because they believe (no specific evidence) that Madrid was a 'model' for future attacks prior to elections.

They have No bin Laden, No Zarqawi -- they have no fucking idea what they are doing.
