Concert for Kerry-Edwards Brings in $7.5M
After celebrities raised $7.5 million with a concert for Democratic candidates John Kerry and John Edwards , an angry Bush campaign challenged their opponents on Friday to release a videotape showing performers calling the president a "liar" and a "cheap thug" during the show.

Actor Chevy Chase drew laughs and cheers from the Radio City Music Hall audience when he described politicians and their hobbies: "Clinton plays the sax, John plays the guitar, and the president's a liar." John Mellencamp sang "Let me tell you a story about the Texas Bandito," a tune that referred to Bush as a "cheap thug."

"If John Kerry is going to praise last night's star-studded hate fest and characterize it as the 'heart and soul' of America, he should share these values with voters everywhere," Bush-Cheney campaign manager Ken Mehlman said Friday in a statement. "We call on Kerry to release the video of this event so that all Americans can see what John Kerry has called America's 'heart and soul.'"

5. Kerry/Edwards should say ...
.... we will swap you a tape of the concert for Cheney's energy task force records or Bush National Guard Documents.

10. Local RW talk host (KDKA Pitt) was howling about the show;
calling the language at the event foul, etc. Nothing said about Cheney's foul language at the Senate.

15. Yes for the last several years; Right wing Mike Pintek from 9-12AM;
Limbaugh from 12-3PM;RW Fred Honsberger from 3-6:00PM. Even the sports program at 6 has a RW host. Progressive guy is on in the evening occasionally. Honsberger is very popular and is about a bad as Limbaugh, close to Savage. Very bigoted.

12. They are characterizing the "heart and soul" of this country.
They are characterizing it as a bunch of Bush/Chenney haters. Plain and simple. Kerry will share these values of anti-Bush with America all through the campaign and in the debates. Hate has become an American value when directed at Bush /Chenney and the lying SOB's thats support their cause. Tell me when Chenney has ever admitted to being the Sec. of Def. that asked congress back in '91 to cut all of those projects and money from the DoD? He has never admitted that, but he blames Kerry for listening to him. A lie by omission, a half truth. He does it to drag Kerry down and promote his own people as strong on defense. Since he is tearing one person down to build himself up and he is doing it with lies, that should qualify as hate. They have turned hate into a value, and when the values they bring into this society are revealed they act insulted.

The polls are showing Bush/Chenney trailing so most people must feel the same way as the star studded event.

14. You know in the old days when the Bushies actually packed a punch
I might have worried about the Republican comments. I don't worry at all now. They are paper tigers. No moral authority and no muscle.
