POSTED: 2:13 pm CDT July 9, 2004
UPDATED: 5:28 pm CDT July 9, 2004

MILWAUKEE -- Jurors found a Milwaukee preacher guilty of abuse in death of 8-year-old autistic boy.

Ray Anthony Hemphill was charged with felony abuse of a child-recklessly causing great bodily harm for Terrance Cottrell Jr.'s death in a ritual at Faith Temple Church in Milwaukee last August.

Authorities said the boy died when Hemphill laid across the child during an exorcism.

1. Oh Good -
horrible what they did to that boy - we had a similar situation in CO w/ the rebirthing of an adopted girl - they smothered her to death.

3. Wasn't charged with murder
And he wasn't intending to kill him so you couldn't nail him for any sort of deliberate homicide.

I am unhappy about the fact that he wasn't charged with negligent homicide or manslaughter. Probably could have gotten a conviction on that.

5. Agree 100%.
Not only that, other prisoners don't like those in prison for hurting kids, one way or the other.

That "minister" better stack up on K-Y jelly for his stay.
