Marines Clash With Insurgents in Ramadi
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040710/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq&cid=540&ncid=716

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. Marines clashed with insurgents at a taxi stand Saturday in a city known as a stronghold of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) supporters, killing three of the attackers and wounding five others, hospital officials said.

The Marines came under fire from the group of insurgents in Ramadi, the military said in a statement. Insurgents frequently clash with coalition forces in the region,a hotbed of insurgent activity known as the Sunni Triangle.

The fighting left three Iraqis dead and five injured, local hospital official Saeed Ali said.

Elsewhere, insurgents blew up three liquor stores in Baqouba, a city north of Baghdad, amid fears that Islamic militants may be trying to impose their strict interpretation of Islam on the city, witnesses said. The blasts killed a taxi driver who happened to be passing by, said Dr. Nassir Jawad from Baqouba General Hospital.

...dont ya love it? "Clashes"! :eyes:

1. I noticed that ....
first paragraph has: killing three of the attackers and wounding five others

but the third has: fighting left three Iraqis dead and five injured, local hospital official Saeed Ali said

Saeed Ali didn't say that the dead and injured were attackers

2. Support the troops!!!!
Support the troops! Whooo! Kill that dirty, smelly, Iraqi, Muslim and backward scum! Urm... I mean liberate them! \sarcasm off

Not funny, eh? Well that type of cheering is going on in in living rooms across America... and Israel as well.

This invasion has made certain that there will be at least dozen 9/11 replica events before 2010.

What is Kerry going to do that is really different from what the current administration does? Exactly! Nothing.

3. We're not hearing much these days from Iraq
Does anyone else feel like we're in a weird period, almost a news blackout? If the hand-over is complete, why don't we have reports from over there?

Does anyone else feel this way?

4. yes lucky, many of us feel this way...
It was predicted by many here that this would happen. With the fake "handover" complete no more bad news out of Iraq. The corporate owned repuke media will do nothing to hurt chimpy's re-selection chances and EVERYTHING to help it.

5. It depends on where you look
If one is lazy enough to expect CNN & Fox to drop it in your lap, yes it may seem as a "blackout"; looking around elsewhere, there remains a wide variety of reports.
