I believe you could say Brahmamayi had a hand in this supposed force, that predetermines events.
Hopefully the Afghan refugees will be in bliss while in Canada Anada = Bliss

If Afghanistan was the "safe and democratic beacon" that bush talks about, why would these 525 Afghans need refugee status?
I am proud of Canada for doing this!

5. Afghanistan's loss is Canada's gain. |
|
I spent several years in Afghanistan back in the day, and was impressed with the native intelligence and hard work of most Afghans. An illiterate Afghan woman once said to me, "I am poor, but it's okay because everybody here is poor. But you're poor and all the other Americans are rich. It must be terrible to be poor in a rich country." I predict that these new Afghan-Canadians will be extremely productive citizens.

6. changing our immigration laws was a definite benefit ... |
|
Economists have been suggesting that one reason why our economy has been doing relatively well is because we reformed our immigration laws to admit people who were fleeing hardship and persecution. Our birth rate is declining (as in most industrialized countries) and the only way to maintain a stable population structure will be through immigration (or we'll find ourselves with vastly more retirees than workers). I believe the statistics show that the government's initial investment in education and resettlement programmes is more than repaid (as in the case of the "Boat People" a quarter-century ago) -- and that's just in the taxes, not counting the extra services jobs created, and the skills and cultural diversity added to our country.
