Former Gov. Dean to speak at Democratic convention
http://www.timesargus.com/04/Story/86610.html

Democratic National Convention officials are expected to announce today that former Gov. Howard Dean has been asked to speak on the first night of the convention, sources said Monday night.

Dean and several other former presidential candidates are scheduled to speak on July 26, the opening night of the convention at the FleetCenter in Boston. It has already been announced that former Presidents Carter and Clinton will be speaking that evening.

Dean's spokeswoman Laura Gross said they are deferring to convention officials for any announcement. A spokeswoman for the convention did not return several phone calls.

WOO HOO!!! His speech will be fantastic! :)

6. great news
Although I was a Clark supporter, I love hearing The Doctor speak. His words can cure what ails!

Hope they give Clark a spot so he can rally the troops!

We're on a roll. Kerry-Edwards 2004.

Will Dean be slated to speak during the hour the networks will be covering, and if not, I wonder if they'll change their minds, hoping for another "Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh" moment?

13. The DNC/DLC owe Dean at least that much
Without Dean, the Democrats wouldn't be as fired up and organized as they are now. We'd better make plans to order pizza for his speech.

27. Nobody's time has been confirmed, and Dean isn't confirmed yet
Here's the part of yesterday's press release about the Monday line up:

http://www.dems2004.org/site/apps/nl/content2.asp?c=luI2LaPYG&b=116434&ct=142436

On Monday, featured speakers will highlight key elements of the Kerry-Edwards optimistic plan for America’s future, including: Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones of Ohio who will talk about the plan to create new and better jobs at home and a stronger economy for the middle class, Representative Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin who will discuss the plan to create affordable and available health care for all Americans, and Representative Bob Menendez of New Jersey who will discuss the Kerry-Edwards’ plans to strengthen America’s position in the world.

Former Vice President Gore and Former President Carter will speak Monday as well as Former President Clinton who will outline John Kerry’s proven leadership, real experience and optimistic vision to strengthen America.

All of the coverage I have ready prior to this announcement said that the other primary candidates (which would include Dean) are "expected" to speak, but did not mention a date.

C-span will be covering both conventions live, so their website stream should have it should the DNC not do it.

Don't most people watch these kinds of things on CSPAN anyway?
