Boffins find something fishy in US diets
London - All is not what it seems in a popular fish supper in the United States.

Scientists from the University of North Carolina have found that three-quarters of the fish sold there labelled as Red Snapper is nothing of the sort.

Not only that, but more than half of the falsely labelled Red Snapper, or Lutjanus campechanus to give it its Latin name - a fish found commonly in the Gulf of Mexico - came from nowhere near the area.

Anyone see this corruption in American news sources?

2. Bay scallops are really nothing more than Ray fin...
punched out with something resembling a hole puncher. Ocean scallops are the only real thing.

4. Even on Cape Cod, that was the case
I used to buy sea scallops by the bushel, right off the boat, shuck 'em and freeze them myself. I never saw bay scallops in the shell. If that wasn't a giveaway, I don't know what is. I always gave them a wide miss.
