White House Disappointed in Philippines
WASHINGTON - Expressing dismay about a close ally, the White House said Thursday the Philippines was sending "the wrong signal to terrorists" by withdrawing its military forces from Iraq (news - web sites) to save the life of a kidnapped truck driver.

"There is no negotiation with terrorists," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said. "There is no separate peace with terrorists."

The Philippines said it would remove its 51 peacekeepers from Iraq early to save the life of abducted driver. The Southeast Asian country earlier vowed it would not yield to pressure to move up its previously scheduled Aug. 20 withdrawal.

Spain was the first member of the coalition to leave, pulling its 1,300 troops out after a pre-election terrorist attack in Madrid. Honduras and the Dominican Republican moved their few hundred troops out in the spring.

4. Poor dictator bush*
I'd like to choke the bast*rd...Trotting his daughters out seems to me a clear indication of desperation. Bless America, what a beautiful lady you have been and will be again. Oh another thing how in the world does this man sleep at night. Maybe we're seeing the effects of sleep deprivation.

2. The Philippines has it's own terrorist threat
Abu Sayap is the Terrorist threat in the Philippines for over ten years.

They don't need to send 51 people all the way to Iraq to find terrorists, they have thousands of Men under arms fighting that threat right at home.

They don't need to be lectured by the assholes in this administration on dealing with terror.

Gloria Arroyo has been able to contain the Muslim threat and still keep friendly relations with her Muslim neighbors in Indonesia and Malaysia. She's doing much better at eliciting support from her Muslim neighbors in her fight against terrorism than the F**king idiot that's in our White House has been in getting support from our Christian neighbors in Canada and Mexico.

The Filipino support was symbolic, and when they were lied to by the
Chimp and his henchmen, they went home to deal with a real threat.

The war in Iraq has made the Philippines less safe from terrorism, and believing Bush's bullshit has made them and other coalition allies less tolerant of this Administration.

By the way, I bet you can add Gloria Arroyo to the growing list of foreign leaders who hope that Bush loses.

3. All 51 of them?
How will the "war on terra" continue? It was a joke of a coalition to begin with, what the hell are they so upset about? Do they actually think it's going to make a difference (other than symbolic)? This is the most stupid administration, ever.

Don't think much... do they. If power is or can be a drug.. these guys need to be cleaned up... spend a month in detox... get their heads on straight... if it were possible. You mean Uzbekistan wasn't a good choice for a "coalition partner"? Read the last two or three sentences at least... and then know that Uzbekistan was on our "coalition of the coerced".

>>But ask whether President Islam Karimov's war on terrorists has become a war on nonviolent Islamic groups -- complete with arbitrary arrest, torture and extrajudicial killings -- and they again refuse to bite. Terrorists are bad. The president is good. As to torture, well, abuses may (or may not) be happening. But if they are, then what's important is, "President Karimov doesn't know about it" -- this from a university professor who had just told me how his son was arrested as a terrorist "because he went to the mosque"; was held for forty-three days without a lawyer; was cajoled into confessing by security officers who tore out his fingernails and inserted needles in their place; and who later renounced his confession in court as the product of torture, only to be given six years by a judge who replied, "As long as it is written, it is so."<<

8. You'd think they'd be more grateful
After all, we invaded and occupied their country and forced them to accept democracy, just like the grateful citizens of Iraq, who greeted us with sweets and flowers.

McKinleyomics, baby: http://www.outriderbooks.com/1898.html

<snip>

It began in February, 1898 when an explosion sunk the U.S. battleship Maine in Havana harbor. Since Cubans lived under a cruel Spanish colonialism, a pro-war U.S. press felt free to claim that Spain unleashed a weapon of mass destruction, and to whip up "Remember the Maine" fever. No weapon was ever found -- it was a boiler explosion that sank the Maine -- and though Spain agreed to President McKinley’s main demands, Congress declared war with a promise to free Cuba.

Secretary of State John Hay called it "a splendid little war" because in less than a hundred days the U.S. liberated 13 million people and 165,000 square miles of colonies from Puerto Rico to Guam and the Philippines, and with only 379 combat deaths. But disease and embalmed meat war profiteers sold to the Army killed another 5,462 U.S. soldiers.

Oh, really? I thought they pulled out because it was promised by the candidate if he were elected... and supported by what, 90% of the Spanish people?

14. You guys are missing the hypocrisy here!
The white house claims Phillipines are "Sending the wrong signal to terrorists"by withdrawing its military forces from Iraq to save the life of a kidnapped truck driver.

YET, Bush wants to cancel or postpone the 2004 presidential election because of a terror threat..WTF?

What kind of message is Bush sending to terrorists, what you are doing is working? He can't truly be that big a coward can he?

16. Perhaps McClellan can offer to take the place of the Filipino hostage.
If McClellan feels so strongly that the Filipinos should stay in Iraq no matter what, then perhaps McClellan can heroically offer to take the place of the Filipino hostage. That way, the Filipinos get to stay in Iraq.

White House Disappointed in Americans

WASHINGTON, DC -- The White House today expressed disappointment in American voters for handing Mr. Bush a crushing defeat at the polls in yesterday's Presidential election.
"This sends the wrong signal to terrorists," said White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan to reporters in the post-election briefing.
Mr. Bush lost 40 states and the District of Columbia in one of the most resounding repudiations of an incumbent occupant of the White House in US history.
World leaders called President-elect Kerry with congratulations and were unanimous in their praise of the resiliency of the American electoral system.
Osama bin Laden was not available for comment.
