Meek Compares Gov. Bush's Role In 2000 Recount to bin Laden's Hiding
Meek Compares Gov. Bush's Role In 2000 Recount to bin Laden's Hiding --Florida Congressman Kendrick Meek compared Gov. Jeb Bush's role in the 2000 presidential recount process (coup d'etat) to Osama bin Laden. And Meek suggests that the governor -- like the al-Qaida leader -- went into hiding. "The governor was like bin Laden after the 2000 election," Meek said. "No one could find him when they had issues as it relates to so many African-American votes that were left on the floor in many supervisor of elections offices throughout the state." (Another point of commonality: both Jeb Bush and Osama bin Laden maintain the Bush dictatorship.)

2. You're right. He's terrific. Only been there since 2003
yet we've heard his name many, many times.

I've seen him on C-Span holding his own with REALLY self-important, obnoxious senior Republican members like California's Republican Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Duncan Hunter, the one on the right:

Kendrick Meek is wonderfully perceptive and self-contained, and he brings no obvious ego problem with him to work. He's a real breath of fresh air around there.

3. Fallout from the Moore film...
Notice how the Florida elections have been in the news lately? Moore's film is slowly bring certian topics into the mainstream. The bush/saudi relationship...soldiers dying for the wrong reasons...lets hope it all starts rolling downhill and rolls the fascists right out of the white house.

4. Why didn't even 1 senator stand up?
The most memorable thing in the film about Florida is that not 1 senator would stand up for America.

5. Because Gore asked them not to
I know that's a lousy excuse but at the time the Dems were still trying to play fair. I think a lot of folks were blindsided, by the now obvious, coordinated effort by the Bu$h team, to steal the election.

We knew they wouldn't play fair, but what we didn't know was how they had planned for a fiasco and had already figured out how to take advantage of confusing and inadequate election laws.

7. It was TOO LATE
The best that could be done was make a record. That was what the good congressmen and women were doing. Some call it political grand standing. It made a point and one that could be used in the future if need be. Like in Moore's film.

The 2000 election was taken by mental warfare. Bush won that war, not the votes.

The nation was being torn apart and it was thought it best to just step back. IT all ready belonged to bush. Our leader and government doesn't work accept by the will of the people.

Lets review the 90's. The Democrats closets were snooped into so much an open door policy was established. IT still wasn't enough.

Both political partys have "radical." We have green peace, etc. You konw, hold forests on lock down, ships, etc.

Republicans have the groups that form the militia. You know, train military style, believe that the government is taking away their rights, etc. This group expected Clinton to NOT step down. Have been known to do their dangous activitys around innocents. Think OK City bombing. And abortion clinics.

While WE took to the streets, we didn't bomb anyone over it.

Not only was there physical danger, the media and the right wing would have just continued with Gore as they did Clinton. It was HARD for Clinton to presided over the country on those terms.

The only hope was that the election would have made Bush and the republicans a "lame duck administration." And it was, until 9/11.

So it was VERY important for the congress men & women to stand up. It was important to protest. It showed that the Bush administration and the republican party was willing to turn a blind eye. And it gives them NO excuse for not investigating the situation and/or coming up with solutions for 2004.
