"Drug firms, the United States and even host Thailand have been bruised by attacks by Aids activists and non-governmental organizations during the 15th International Aids Conference, which comes to a close today."
"Critics have saved their strongest words for drug giants, for refusing to cut prices of anti-retroviral drugs. A group of 100 protesters stormed exhibition booths put up by Abbott Laboratories, Bristol Meyers Squibb, Pfizer and Roche. Accusing the companies of greed, they tore down posters, and sprayed and splashed colors on the booths."
"The US has also come under criticism for focusing financial support on the administration's programme President's Emergency Plan for Aids Relief, reather than contributing through the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria."
Too cozy with Thaksin: We'll $cratch your back if you'll ... deploy uniformed cooks and barbers to our new bases in Iraq.
