McKinney Vaults into 4th District Lead
Levetan and Woolard are refusing to concede

http://www.11alive.com/specials/local/decision2004/decision_article.aspx?storyid=49459

Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is apparently on her way to capturing the Democratic nomination for the 4th district Congressional seat.

With 98 percent of the precincts reporting, McKinney had 54 percent, former DeKalb County CEO Liane Levetan had 21 percent, and former Atlanta City Council President Cathy Woolard had 20 percent.

Many experts said the race was essentially a referendum on McKinney, who lost to Congresswoman Denise Majette two years ago. Majette is now running for the Senate left vacant by Democratic Senator Zell Miller.

The winner will face Republican Catherine Davis in November.

6. Probably. Our district is overwhelmingly Dem.
But with the hatred towards her, outside forces may be pretty strong.

5. This is actually kind of wrong
McKinney only has 51% and she has to get at least 50% to avoid a runoff and there are 3 precincts left so it could be close. NBC has the wrong results because they say McKinney has 54% and she doesn't.
