Coors and Molson to proclaim merger by Thursday
MONTREAL - Brewers Adolph Coors Co. and Molson Inc. are preparing to announce a $6-billion US merger as early as Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reports.

In Wednesday's edition, the financial newspaper said the board of Canada's largest brewer was expected to meet later in the day to vote on the deal.

~snip~

Many details still needed to be worked out, and it was possible that an announcement could be delayed, people close to both brewers told the paper.

1. The question here is ...
will Coors finally taste good or will Molson suck?

3. I've always thought they both sucked
I remember what my brother told me when I got my first six pack of coors (hanging out in front of the 7-11 waiting for someone old enough to buy it). He said, "Don't drink that! It's got workers blood in it!" To this day I've never bought another Coors.

7. "I am American!" to replace "I am Canadian!"?
Or perhaps "I am Canerican!"
"I am Amerdian!"

You need to have seen the relevant TV commercials to get the reference.

12. Bring Dos Equis into the deal...
and they can say "I AM NORTH AMERICAN!"

It may not have the same impact, though.

9. Coors is garbage...
My Dad has always and still does refer to it as "Rocky Mountain Puma Piss." Molson is drinkable, but now I wouldn't touch it. I mostly drink imports(on payday), but when I am mowing the lawn I drink La Crosse Lager, which (checking can)is union made, another one for those of you living in the Upper Midwest is Pigs Eye Pilsner...local company, also union brewed in La Crosse and Stevens Point.

13. My Dad used to call Coors "Rocky Mountain Goat Piss"!!
He was stationed at Fort Carson, CO during WWII before he went overseas and he refused to drink Coors because of their stand against the unions.

When it got popular in the 1970's east of the Mississippi and you couldn't buy it here, my cousin in Oklahoma brought some up during a visit and my father made him pour every can down the sewer in front of our house. He wouldn't allow one can of Coors in the house.

I finally got to taste Coors in 1976 during a ski trip to Colorado and I couldn't figure out why everyone raved about it, I thought it tasted worse than Bud.

11. DAMN! I just bought a six of Molson!
For the SO (I don't drink beer myself) because they sponsor CART races.

Well, I guess I won't do it again.
