UN to Evacuate Non-Essential Staff from Gaza
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The United Nations (news - web sites) plans to evacuate non-essential foreign staff from the Gaza Strip (news - web sites) because of the deteriorating security situation, a U.N. official said on Thursday.


The official, speaking in Jerusalem, said the move followed after a decision was taken to move Gaza to security level "Phase Four" -- one step below the maximum "Phase Five," which requires all international staff to leave.
