John Lehman on CNN just now: "We have the story on 9-11" |
|
Freudian slip? In response to an Aaron Brown question as to whether there would have been anything different coming from the commission's report if they had six more months, Lehman said no.
Can't recall his exact words but he basically said "No, we have the basic story figured out and I wouldn't expect the story to change if we had more time."
I'm sure they're pleased as punch that they all have their "story" straight.
Thanks, foxes, for tending to the chicken coop.
Nicely done.

and he was up to his eyebrows in the Iran-Contra deal, for which he was never held accountable. He's part of the Bush Family Evil Empire, imo.

2. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. |
|
The report from the commission is the "story" he's referring to. It sounded to me like he was essentially saying, "No, the commission had enough time and reviewed everything we needed to review to come to these conclusions." In other words, they weren't short on time, so the report is representative of what they believe the "story" is re: 9/11.
Am I missing something?

3. Yes, you are missing something, and so is the report.... |
|
...it's called "the truth".
They do indeed have a story, but when it says that the CIA didn't warn the NeoCons about the possible use of a hijacked airliner, they're lying.

sorry if I was too oblique.
this is one sham of a report and i just thought it a bit freudian that Lehman used the word "story" twice. Sure, it's a story. A modern day fairy tale.
Open wide.
Say Aaaahl-Kyda.

maybe they could have finished the chapter about what Bu$h & Co actually did and did not do on the day of the attack.

7. You have to wonder what manner of coercion was used to get this panel... |
|
...to deny the Bush-bin Laden and Bush-Saud connections. From today's news conference:
Kean: "We do talk quite definitively about the allegation that there was a flight of Saudis that took off, um before airspace was open, authorized by high levels in the United States government, without the, uh, prop...proper interviewing by the FBI. And what we say that story is just not true. Uh, that plane, that plane took off. It took off, uh, after the airspace was open, after the F bay, the FBI had screened the people and it was authorized by Mr. Clarke."
This is a classic straw argument--set up one point and dispose of it, and you've settled the entire issue. Kean is referring to one plane that flew on 9/19 but multiple planes carried Saudis and others out of the country, including one that took off from Tampa on 9/13.

8. that's what puzzles me too |

it really is the elephant in the room. many of them. sitting all over the place, eating pretzels, smoking cigars and pissing on the floor.
yet the dems just roll over. Two of the most respected Indiana dems--Lee Hamilton and Tim Roemer--appeared to be keying on some of the bullshit during the hearings, but then they sign on to Son of Warren Commission.
definitely lends credence to the theory that the two parties are branches of the same central politburo. in order to survive in national politics you must have the octopus chip implanted.
makes me wonder what kerry will really be like.
anyone for a picnic on the grassy knoll?
