Friday, 23 July, 2004

US forces have launched an air strike on suspected insurgents in the Iraqi city of Falluja, the US military says.

The military said it targeted militants linked to suspected al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, whom it blames for a string of attacks in Iraq.

A hospital source said five people were injured in the attack early on Friday morning, including children.

The military said it carried out the attack at on between 10 and 12 suspects who were in the courtyard of a house in the city.

"The anti-Iraqi forces were struck while in the courtyard of a house; the house was left intact," the statement said.

6. Yeah, see, gotta be vigilant...
...I've noticed several recent reports are using the "anti-Iraqi" forces. Just a hop skip and a jump to calling us "anti-American" forces, because we seek to oust the fraud occupier from the people's house.

8. An air strike to get 12 people?
isn't that just a little bit of overkill?

9. Not if..
you are modelling occupied iraq on occupied palestine.

btw the BBC quuoted the "anti iraqi" phrase, I would be shocked if they used that phrase themselves.

Apparently,US forces are short of bullets - and have had to go to other countries.

11. Plus the US troops
are afraid to set foot in Fallujia anymore.

It's just so much easier to drop a few discriminant bombs here and there.

13. No US ground troops at risk with air strikes
This keeps the number of US casualties down - which is the strategy not because this administration cares about the troops, but they worry about the negative response to casualty numbers taking away votes from them.

12. Cowardly and repulsive tactics.
This is a disgrace. Those taking part in this practice should be made to confront the parents of the children they kill.
