GW Bush and Ken Lay Share Same Attorney
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 11:06 PM by doxieone
Moderators: I know this is outside the time for the rule of 'breaking news' -- yet, I am wondering if was posted here. It was deep within Google News site.
I am trying to look it up on NY Daily News site.

New York, July 20(ANI):

Like all good friends, US President George Bush who sees himself more as a Texan Cowboy first, and his Texan buddy Kenneth Lay, the former chief of the Enron Corp. share the same attorney when dealing with matters of the court.

According to the New York Daily News, Lay has retained Washington criminal lawyer Jim Sharp for a case. Sharp was the same attorney who represented President Bush last month in a case related to White House's leak of a CIA agent's name to a right-wing columnist named Robert Novak.

8. I've often wondered about Bush and his
rhetoric about bashing lawyers. Why?

Because George W. Bush wanted to become a lawyer at one time but was REJECTED. Indeed.

George W. Bush graduated from Yale University with a low C average and was subsequently REJECTED when applying to the University of Texas, School of Law. A GPA/cum average of C and his LSAT score didn't impress Texas at that time! I think Georgie just cannot let go and retains bitterness and lotsa inner angst about this personal rejection . . . <evil grin> . . .

Nothing like talking out of both sides of the mouth, huh? That's George!

:kick: :kick: :kick:

P.S. note that all his prep school and college admissions were done through legacy admissions policies . . . he's not the brightest bulb on the planet!!

12. Nah. It's for his rich buddies. They've paid him to do this because of
class-action suits against uber-rich corporations who are polluting and otherwise harming people and their country/planet

20. He can't be pardoned before he is convicted can he?
Could we simply make sure that the trial doesn't end before * is kicked out of the oval office? Or can the gravity challenged moron give him a get out off jail free card?

6. I'd say there's a potential conflict of interest
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 11:41 PM by teryang
Not on these two cases but between the two clients ultimate interests. I guess Sharp will be used as an intermediary to keep Lay's stories straight.

The fact that Sharp has a direct confidential line to the white house won't be lost on US attorney's dealing with Mr. Lay.
